Gervonni Cares, Inc (GCI) is partnering with the National Financial Educators Council (NFEC) to offer a financial literacy program unlike any other.
Learner (and GCI) objectives are measured by assessment tools, individual growth plans, always with the GCI psychological welfare at the forefront of their financial learning.
By combining the NFEC digital remote learning platform with our unique ability to inspire people of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds, we create a learning environment where financial literacy and financial stability thrive.
In order to develop a positive relationship with money, we must first understand the impact of our financial behaviors. We believe that the bedrock for long-term saving and positive fiscal health starts with making mindful financial decisions that drive us toward our goals. But, if it were that easy, everyone would do it. This course introduces GCI learners to the critical connection between stress management and financial satisfaction - the mission of our program.
Well, you’re going need to know where your money is going, and the best way to do that is to make a budget. Your money matters! Budgeting is a very essential life skill and this course will introduce the basic aspects of budgeting and how budgeting benefits your progress toward attaining your desired lifestyle in reaching your financial goals.
You will learn about why credit matters and how to build/repair credit and maintain it. In addition, you will discuss and learn risks and consequences of various types of debt(s).
This course covers effective money management and various ways to generate income. Learners will be provided basic tools to maximize their earning potential in today's job market.
Learning how to properly complete your W4 and prepare your own individual taxes. Learning about the different filing statuses and which one benefits them the most so learners can save money during tax season.
1. What are the cost of classes?
All classes are free. Our fundraisers and community events bring in funds to ensure longevity of this program.
2. Where is the location of classes being held?
Currently classes are being held online via Zoom and in person.
3. How long does it take to complete courses?
Course are held as a package. It will take approximately 3 months to complete classes. We want to ensure each learner understands and can apply each subject taught in financial literacy to their personal lifestyle.
Learners will be provided refurbished laptops to use as an essential tool to be successful in the program. Upon completion of the programs the laptops will be donated to the learners.
